Because our sexual function treatments are not covered by insurance, most of our patients pay out of pocket, and we are very sensitive to the cost of many of our procedures. Our mission is to offer the benefits of regenerative medicine with effective, state-of-the-art technology in an affordable manner.
Will insurance cover any of my treatments for Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Some insurance policies do cover injectable hormones, and our providers can prescribe these medications, self-administered at home, as a method for hormone level management at our patients’ request. However, most insurance companies are firmly grounded in the pharmaceutical world and do not cover the use of specially compounded medications. By their very nature, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) medications must be compounded (including hormone pellets) and dosed differently for each individual. Our clinic’s most recommended method of BHRT is hormone pellet therapy, which is not covered by insurance.
Some insurance policies claim to cover diagnostic lab work for checking hormone levels. After billing insurance for many years for these lab tests, Prestige Regenerative Medicine found that many of our patients were receiving surprise bills in the mail for portions of the lab costs that the insurance refused to cover. Instead, our clinics now receive a discounted lab test rate and we include the cost of all standard labs in our pricing for our hormone replacement pellet therapy program in order to pass these discounts on to our patients. If you choose our bioidentical hormone pellet therapy program, you will not receive any additional bills from the lab. This makes our program much more affordable for patients.
What are my options for payments?
For patients wishing to use their insurance for injectable hormones, we offer an Injectable Hormone Membership at all of our clinics, where we can prescribe refills and the pharmacy will bill your insurance for the medication.
For patients who select bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, they can pay in full at the time of service or we offer a monthly plan for our pellet patients who prefer small monthly payments. For our sexual function treatments, patients may prepay for the entire program to receive a discount, or can pay for individual appointments at the time of service.
Some patients opt to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds to pay for BHRT, and many have been able to get their insurance companies to count it against their annual deductibles.
